Today I'm sharing just a few photos I took on a recent weekend walk.
Alexander and I set out with the hopes of seeing some tadpoles at a little swampy pond area in the nearby woodlands, and we did indeed see some tadpoles. We were also able to see many small birds (robins, blue tits, thrush) and a heron at the big pond (not to be confused with the tadpole pond).
Our walk was a great little outing, spending just over an hour outdoors in total. However, it was so cold!! The temperature was reading at -2 Celsius and it definitely felt it, or even colder to be honest. About fifteen minutes after arriving home it actually started snowing lightly, so our departure was good timing.
In my last 'Walk With Me' post I shared some snowy scenes and spoke about how it doesn't snow here often nowadays, and since then we have had a good couple of days with snow flurries - although no big settling of snow.
This February walk was very interesting; whilst it still feels very much like winter, there are light signs of spring moving closer.
love the ice cycle photos
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to see them!
Delete...those catlins are a good sign that spring will be coming. Take care and stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely, Tom.
DeleteThank you & you!
The little robin is very cute.
ReplyDeleteWe were able to see a good number of cute little birds on this walk.
DeleteIt looks like you had a wonderful walk. It is so good to get outside especially when we've been cooped up inside during lockdown.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. The ice makes everything look so pretty. x
Yes, definitely Kim. We haven't been walking as much as we were pre pandemic, but have been greatly cherishing these little walks that we have been doing.
