Last Thursday we (we being me & my six year old son) went for a morning walk along the canal path. The canal path is one of our favourite local walks as it is just a few minutes from our house, the route itself is easy & gentle with a flat paved path, and it is a nice way to feel enveloped in nature with the opportunity to spot some of the wildlife my son likes to keep an eye out for - fish in the water, heron looking for food, and horses & sheep that can be found in the fields that line either side of the canal. There were no heron today, but we did see all the other animals mentioned, as well as ducks and a couple of squirrels enjoying breakfast up in the trees above us.
Walking locally is the only 'fun' outing we've been doing during the pandemic, generally bright and early (leaving around 8), however it wasn't until this outing that I'd actually taken my camera along. Whilst I don't want to linger longer than warranted, I have missed capturing the outdoors and it felt great to photograph nature once again.
Hello, Lovely natures scenes from your walk. The flowers are lovely. The ducks are a cute sighting. Take care! Enjoy your day! Have a great week ahead.
ReplyDeleteThank - always love when we see ducks.
DeleteA walk in nature with your son seems like the perfect antidote to enforced confinement - for both of you.
ReplyDeleteI quite agree!
DeleteSuch lovely shots.

Deletethis truly looks like a lovely pathway to take. And being close to home is a bonus. So lovely to get out for a walk in the sunshine among the trees and flowers. enjoy the rest of your week and thankyou so much for stopping by my blog last week. It was lovely to "meet" you. Take care.

DeleteHi Jade, your walk sounds lovely. There is a lot to be said for being in nature, it can lift our spirits and make all seem right in the world. I love the cheeky squirrel and the ducks. Buzzards and lizards are the main things we see at the moment and I'm sure the buzzards are eyeing up the littlest dogs for breakfast!

Nature is a healer in many ways and I am always happy to take comfort in it.
DeleteInteresting to hear what you see out & about lately - I love that about the blogging community; snapshots from all around the world.
Wonderful photos, Jade! You have captured so much beauty.
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing trees and flowers but I must say the photos of the squirrel and ducks are really special.
It seems incredible that Alexander is already six years old. :)
Happy August! Stay safe and well! xx
Ah, thank you Sara.
DeleteOh yes, it is even incredible to me - Alexander will be seven in November... Time sure flies!!
I hope August is treating you well :-)
Your nature photos are beautiful and I’m glad you felt comfortable enough to stop and take some. I understand how you feel ... I don’t like to stop a long time on my walks either these days (except in our daughters big backyard). It’s a funny time for sure. But I am glad to be able to get out into nature ... and I’m glad you are!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sallie.
DeleteYes, these times have definitely meant some shifts in life, but we adjust :-)
