You only have to take a little browse of my blog to see that I have a love of nature, being outdoors and walking - so I'm keen to share about May being National Walking Month. There are so many benefits to walking, especially for your physical & mental health, so I love that there is a month dedicated to walking, encouraging us to get outside and walk more.
Something we've been trying to do in May, and to be honest that we try to do whenever the weather allows us, is to get out on at least one family walk each weekend. If this isn't for you, or suitable for your lifestyle, there are many other ways in which you can incorporate walking into your month of May (well, what's left of it), and hopefully beyond that too... The lighter mornings & evenings are perfect for getting out on a little stroll before or after work.
The photos I'm sharing below were all taken on our walk last weekend. Somewhere we walk regularly is our local canal path, however the route we take most days is roughly 30ish minutes round trip (we live pretty close to the path)... On this day we decided to walk further along the route, and found ourselves on our feet for an hour and a half. There was so much to see, especially as we travelled further than we typically do; we were particularly engrossed in the wildlife we saw on route, including fish, ducks, heron and more.
Enjoy your outdoor adventures, and the beauty of nature!

Oh wow, is it national Walking Month? Alas, I am having little chance to participate because we are organising a house move. Love your pictures though, what great idea ot capture what you see on your walks. The lillies are particularly impressive. #mysundayphoto

DeleteAw, I keep looking out for ducklings on our lake but none yet.
ReplyDeleteAhh, I hope you get to see the cuteness soon... We went to the duck pond over the weekend and saw two mummy ducks with ducklings. Lovely.
