READ
I'm continuing with Rebecca reread; it's looking like I'll have it finished by time July concludes.
Speaking of books, on Monday we headed down to the library and signed Alexander up to the summer reading program. We did this for the first time last year, and not only did he enjoy it, but I found it quite motivating to get us to the library on a consistent basis.

WATCHED
This week I've returned to some childhood favourites, watching three films I absolutely loved as a child - Jumanji, Matilda and also Hocus Pocus. The last one there is obviously a Halloween film, but I was just really in the mood to watch it. I will admit I have slightly got that autumnal feeling of late what with the weather and also some fallen leaves about... Although I think I'm more longing for summer to be gone and in turn my severe hayfever!
Also this week I watched the new trailer for season 2 of Stranger Things on Netflix - I'm so excited!!
MADE
Decisions regarding the interior of our house. Nathan and I have mildly different styles when it comes to interior design, so it feels good to have put our heads together and settled on colour schemes pretty easily.
WORE
It has been another one of those weeks - summer clothes followed by raincoats.
HEARD
We took a walk along the canal path earlier on in the week, when the sun did shine, and we heard the sound of grasshoppers in abundance. Alexander took a particular liking to the sound.
Having Alexander at home all week long has meant even more chatter and in turn, even more questions... Questions such as, why does his elbow get lost when he straightens his arm out?!
AND LASTLY...
I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND AHEAD, HOWEVER YOU MAY BE SPENDING IT!

Love the elbow question! How did you answer? Oh I love Hocus Pocus, I want to revisit some childhood favourites over the summer holidays (although I agree with the Autumn feeling, its not felt like summer at all this week!) Have a lovely weekend x #LittleLoves
ReplyDeleteWith great difficulty - haha!
DeleteI hope you're having a lovely weekend :-)
...beautiful pink sky!
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had a pink sky in a while - it was lovely to see!
DeleteHow awful has the weather been this week? Definitely been wearing warmer clothes this week. Not watched Jumanji in years! Such a good film. Have a wonderful Weekend xx #LittleLoves
ReplyDeleteReturning to Jumanji was a lot of fun - the reboot is coming out late in the year I believe.
DeleteI hope you're having a lovely weekend!
Love the constant toddler questioning! My little one does not stop talking, honestly. I've yet to read Rebecca, must get round to it - heard only good things. Hocus Pocus is one of my favourite films. I could watch it a thousand times. Enjoy your week xx
ReplyDeleteAlexander doesn't either! I love listening to him, and I think it's so interesting seeing how they interpret things.
DeleteThank you - and to you!
That's it, you've inspired me to start re-reading my du Maurier collection. I love Rebecca. Ooh, and Jamaica Inn. And My Cousin Rachel! We watched Matilda the other week - TD really enjoyed it which I wasn't expecting, although he was afraid of the Trunchbull which is fair enough. Hope you have a fab weekend x #LittleLoves
ReplyDeleteI love Rebecca, but have yet to read any more of her books, surprisingly! I really need to. I hope you're able to reread your collection, and enjoy!
DeleteHave a lovely weekend!
Oh I love all three of those films from my childhood, and as soon as September hits I will start watching Hocus Pocus, but really it's never too early haha! xx
ReplyDeleteLet's be honest, I'll probably be rewatching when autumn actually arrives also!
DeleteI hope you're having a nice weekend!
Love Hocus Pocus (I just had to check if Matilda was from my childhood - I was 15 when it came out so I guess it still just about counts)! I've never read Rebecca. We used to holiday right opposite Daphne du Maurier's house in Fowey, Cornwall when I was younger and never got around to reading any of her works. Love the pics, that sky is so pretty. Hope you have a great weekend! x
ReplyDeleteOh I bet it was lovely holidaying there!
DeleteI hope you're having a lovely weekend!
That's a good question! Love the questions toddlers ask. Lovely photos too. The weather has been awful this week.
ReplyDeleteSo much curiosity, and all lovely to hear.
DeleteHere's hoping the weather picks up. Happy weekend to you!
Interiors decisions can be so hard cant they? And I love all of those films especially Jumanji I love it, and what is going on with this weather, I never know what coat to take out x
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the weather still hasn't made its mind up!
DeleteOh I love those films! I find it's so much fun introducing films I enjoyed as a child to my children. My eldest girl loved My Girl and Little Women when we watched them together the other day.

Ah, that's lovely!
DeleteThanks so very much for featuring my post about the British Seaside, Jade. It's a good job us Brits don't mind fish and chips in the rain! I love taking my boys to the library too - it's such a great way of trying out lots of different authors and I think I enjoy the trip as much as they do. Xx
ReplyDeleteHappy to - great collection and added to our list of places we'd like to visit.
DeleteI'm sorry to hear you have been suffering due to severe hayfever. I was burnt by the sun early on so I've been dreaming of Autumn especially as I've been seeing some Christmas in July vlogs too. Bring on the jewel tones. #mmbc
ReplyDeleteEagerly awaiting autumn!
