Snapshots | October 2015

Read | I got in to the festivities of Halloween by reading two spooky reads this month - The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson and This House is Haunted by John Boyne.

Watched | Love, Rosie - adapted from one of my favourite Cecelia Ahern books, I was hesitant to watch this one but I thoroughly enjoyed it; The Angriest Man in Brooklyn and Odd Thomas. I also watched a little remembrance show focused on the late Robin Williams after enjoying one of his final performances in The Angriest Man in Brooklyn; he is one of my favourite actors and it was insightful getting to know a bit more about the man behind the camera. Lastly, we picked up Jurassic World whilst out shopping on the weekend and so gave that a watch - it was pretty good actually.

Photographed | So much beautiful autumnal sunshine!

Enjoyed | Discovering more photographers and interacting within the photography community. Of course I've been doing that since starting this blog in late June however I do find I go through phases when it comes to interaction, but I've been making a conscious effort to keep on top of these interactions this month. Not only is it good to support fellow peers, but I'm constantly awed and inspired by the work of those I follow.

Blogged | I've shared two photo series this month on Captured By Jade - I try to only do one a month but I thought both subjects were fitting for the month - Seasonal Shift and Fallen Leaves.

Discovered | So much knowledge regarding the names of certain plants and such. I'm very much an admirer of the great outdoors but know so little, not for lack of trying its just I don't retain information all that well, but this month I've learnt a wealth of knowledge when sharing my photos. Many thanks to Tom and Daniel for educating me, you are both teaching me with almost each post of mine.

Planned | I'm so excited for a project I have planned... Although I won't be rolling it out until the new year, I've been immersing myself in a lot of brainstorming, list making and general planning - its something I'm really passionate about and can't wait to share. The project isn't related to this photography blog though.

Decorated | This advent house from Hobbycraft - I know it's still a little early for Christmas (although I do want to start watching all the Christmas films, they're my favourite things to watch!) but I wanted to get this project sorted in advance in case it turned out terrible. Luckily, it didn't, and in a month we get to fill it with yummy chocolates and start the countdown to Christmas. My advent house looks different to the link I shared in terms of colour scheme and such as I did it my own taste as opposed to being a carbon copy of Hobbycraft's.

How did October treat you?

  1. looks as though you had a busy October, Jade! I love the photo of the beautiful fall leaves! Have a great week!

  2. What an interesting post, Jade!
It has been a pleasure to know you and your photography. The lovely thing in blogging is that we continue learning all the time.
Have a lovely November and enjoy your Christmas preparations!
PS The photo number 7 was perhaps my favourite too in your series of fallen leaves. The different greens are fascinating.

    1. Ah, thank you Sara. I'm glad to have discovered your blog and gotten to know you - yours are definitely some of the photos that I'm referring to! Yes, I'm constantly learning, even more so now in the photo blogging community.

There is just so much in photo seven and I love it all. Haha!

  3. How did October treat me? I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and enjoy each day as it comes.
