My August Photo | Week Two - Birmingham Photo Diary
This week I'll be sharing four posts as part of My August Photo hosted by Polly.

Over the past weekend we took a little break away visiting family in Birmingham, and of course my camera came along for the journey. We ventured out to Birmingham Sea Life Centre as well as Dudley Zoo and Castle, both of which were great outings with a little one in tow. Today's post I'll be sharing a few photos as just a round up really, with separate posts up for the Sea Life Centre, the Zoo, and the Castle coming later on in the week.

The pictures shared below are just a variety from the week including some wildlife that frequented the garden, a picturesque cottage in the zoo grounds, a contrast of buildings in Birmingham city centre, and of course flowers - I take far too many pictures of flowers. Haha!

There is currently a great art project running in Birmingham called The Big Hoot. Over the city
centre and wider afield is a trail of 89 owl sculptures that have been created by artists, sponsored by companies/organisations and that will eventually get auctioned off with all proceeds raised going to Birmingham's Children's Hospital. It's a great idea with some really fun and interesting owl designs being displayed. We didn't get to see them all, just a few dotted over the city centre but I thought I'd share one of the pictures taken. The red telephone box is synonymously British and so of course I had to snap this one.

  1. I love how you've managed to make this city look beautiful. Still can't believe I missed you. Boooo.

    1. Thank you, Charlotte. I'm sure there will be a next time! :-)

  2. Ooo such a diverse range of photos. I've been to Birmingham just a couple of times and really enjoyed it but didn't see much outside the centre. The photo of the geese and the ripples in the water is beautiful :) Thanks for linking up to #MyAugustPhoto

    1. Thank you, Polly.

I've travelled to Birmingham on a number of occasions and had a brief stint living there too, and I still find undiscovered pockets!
