Summer (2018)

It has been a while since I sat down and wrote a blog post - I feel a bit rusty - having taken the summer months off of blogging and social media (for the most part). At the very start of July I did share about my summer social media break via Twitter, however I didn't share a post about it specifically. I tend to slow down with blog content during the summer months anyway, but with Alexander starting full time school in September, I just really wanted to be present and make the most of the time we had together before this new season of life was upon us.

Although I haven't been documenting the moments and memories here on my blog, we've still been making them, of course.

Our summer has been spent entirely in Wales, with no specific holiday being had (we did go away in May), but plenty of time spent outdoors and taking day trips to local attractions & nature spots. As well as outings, we have spent the usual time at home enjoying movie mornings, games afternoons, crafting, reading (Alexander completed the library summer reading challenge for the third year) and so much more. A birthday celebration was had in the summer months (Nathan's), as well as our first wedding anniversary (& seventh anniversary as a couple). Also, Nathan was able to take some time off of work during the summer holidays, and that extra quality time together as a family was wonderful.

The photos below are just a small snippet of what I have captured from the months of June, July & August.

All in all, we've had a lovely summer.

The season has started to turn here now, with lower temperatures, more rain, foggy mornings, and a shift in the landscape also. Autumn has always been my favourite time of year, but I just adore it here in the valleys, and I'm looking forward to opening it with welcome arms very soon.

I hope you have all been keeping well, and I wish you a wonderful month of September.
