Word of the Week | Memories

MEMORIES

We're all back to normality now, having had nearly a full week of regular routine after the school holidays, however my word of the week relates to both half term week as well this current week.

During half term we spent a few nights away on the Welsh coast, exploring the beautiful town of Tenby and basking in the rejuvenating qualities of being by the sea - making holiday memories as a family.

This week, I've been reliving those memories by sorting through photos as well as documenting the days in the form of travel diary posts (which I have written and scheduled to be posted throughout next week).

One of my primary reasons for blogging nowadays is the memories; capturing them here and having the ability to look back on them so easily in the future - honestly, I've used my blog as a tool before for finding out specific dates for certain things, and more. Of course I have my own memory, but in all honesty it isn't that great, so documenting things here with words in the moment, is such a precious thing for me.

I'm well aware that I can document and capture these same things via physical paper, without it being public, however (having tried doing so before) it just isn't feasible for me to store this long term. When I'm old and grey, I'm sure I'll be treasuring my memories and thanking myself for having captured them here on my little blog.

  1. I'm glad you've made some happy memories the past two weeks. Blogs are fantastic for storing memories and it's always good to look back. We visited a local nature attraction last week and looking at my blog I have all our other visits recorded there and not only can I see the difference in the nature centre, I can see a huge difference in my children!

    1. It's lovely how we're able to look back on these things, especially as in the moment you may not pick up one them too much.

      I hope you've had a wonderful weekend.

    1. Documenting your life on a blog can seem odd at times, but it is no different to other social media platforms (perhaps only in the element of it being a bit more personal), and we're lucky to be able to look back at the click of a button.

I hope you & your family have had a lovely weekend, and enjoyed your holiday!
