Word of the Week | Booked

BOOKED

I'm happy to report that we're all feeling much better (thank you all for your lovely responses & well wishes in last week's post), and so this week has been all about getting back on top of things and my ducks in a row to start the coming month of February (already?! how?!) afresh. Many of the items I wanted ticking off of my to list meant getting things booked.

I've booked in for my second smear test (which randomly coincided with cervical cancer prevention week... very important ladies - I'm sure you don't need me to tell you). I've booked a donations pick up with our local charity for a hodge podge of items that we no longer need or want; I'm sure they'll find their way to a good & loving home. I attempted to book Alexander in for his first ever swimming lessons, but I actually missed out on the day & time slot I wanted so will need to call back another week for those - I'm really keen to put him in some though. Lastly, and happiest of all the bookings, we've booked the hotel portion of our holiday for the year. We're sticking with a UK break, and our want to explore more of Wales, by heading to Tenby for a few nights at the end of May. Tenby has been on my to visit list since before we moved to Wales - over four years ago now - so I'm really looking forward to our little visit late spring.

  7. Aww that sounds nice I did mine last year and I am glad to say that I am okay. I feel so uneasy but the nurse who did it is so nice. #wotw

    1. I definitely find the experience embarrassing to an extent personally, but at the same time it is so, so important and that should definitely outweigh the embarrassment aspect of a smear test.

The UK is just beautiful to travel in!

  9. Hi Jade, those few minutes of discomfort are well worth the peace of mind. I always feel so releaved after what I call my MOT. Learning to swim is such an important thing thing to do, as my Dad always said "it could save your life one day"... The UK is such a beautiful place for a break, it's the weather that lets it down. Fingers crossed you get good weather.

    xx

    1. I quite agree about learning to swim - I learnt when younger, although have actually forgotten myself now & fear it a little, perhaps I should be looking into swimming lessons for myself also!! But that's exactly why I want Alexander to learn to swim, but also to keep it up, as it is such a valuable life lesson... It could save his life one day, as you say!

Ahh, I hope so Deb, but living in Wales we're used to a bit of rain. Haha!

  12. Sounds like a busy week making all those bookings. Booking a smear test is so important. I'm always slightly shocked that people put it off. Planning holidays is lots of fun and sounds like you have a lovely break away planned :-) #WotW
