We've Been Enjoying DisneyLife

If you have a child in a school setting, like myself, then I hope the school holidays have been treating you well so far... For us, they haven't quite gone to plan. I could sit listing the reasons for this, however I'd only end up boring you. One thing none of us could predict for the summer holidays was the weather we've been having, and it sure has been far from summer like! Due to this, Alexander and I have spent more time at home than I'd anticipated, and in turn we've been making more use of our DISNEYLIFE SUBSCRIPTION.

As I've mentioned before, we don't own a TV, so all of our viewing comes from online players, subscription services or YouTube. We're big Disney fans in our household, and so when I felt a little unsatisfied with what we had to watch, I purchased DisneyLife.

Although we've had the service for a good few months now, the summer has seen its most usage. Typically we aren't a family who watch TV each and every day, especially during the week, however with the summer holidays now here and plenty of rain to come along with it, Alexander has been exploring more shows and we've enjoyed a good couple of movie mornings. For this reason, I wanted to share more about the DisneyLife subscription service and why we'd recommend it.

WHAT IS DISNEYLIFE?
DisneyLife is Disney's very own streaming subscription service. Whilst there are a select number of Disney shows & films available on other streaming services, on DisneyLife you'll find a extensive catalogue of content available - films and shows as well as books and music. The content is viewable online, but also downloadable and available to enjoy offline.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
A monthly subscription to DisneyLife costs £4.99 a month, with the ability to cancel at anytime. There is also a seven day free trial available when first signing up.

WHAT CAN I WATCH?
There is a large variety of content available on DisneyLife - Disney films (animated & live action) including Pixar as well as shows from the Disney channel + Disney XD + Disney Junior.

Alexander has been loving the shows from Disney Junior, enjoying old favourites such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jungle Junction whilst taking a liking to a bunch of new shows - Henry Hugglemonster, Sofia the First and PJ Masks.

On the film front, we own a select number of Disney DVD's that we watch regularly, however we've been spoilt for choice on DisneyLife! With an easy to use website face and well organised categories, you don't lose too long browsing the titles. On mummy-son movie days we've been enjoying a bunch of the classic animations as well as some Pixar titles... I can't even tell you how many times I've seen Cars now!

As I mentioned above we are a Disney loving family, and so I've been using the service myself also. Alongside some of the well known and traditional Disney titles, I've been interested in the documentaries and also the Pixar shorts.

EXTRA INFORMATION
We watch DisneyLife on both our laptop and tablet devices, each having our own profile on the one account - in total you can have six profiles on any one account. I really like when subscription services allow you to have separate profiles as it's much easier to keep track of what an individual has been watching. When creating the profiles you're able to name them and pick from a selection of Disney characters as your profile picture, which can be fun for the kids. I have the classic Mickey Mouse, while of course Alexander opted for Lightning McQueen!

As well as separate profiles, you're able to set parental controls on each individual profile. Currently we set the shows up for Alexander, as he has no idea how to use electronic devices, and so we haven't utilised these but I know you're able to set parental controls ranging from limiting content to even limiting viewing time.

TO CONCLUDE
There's something for everyone on DisneyLife, and it's a must for any Disney lover!

  1. I have Netflix and I read recently that Disney was pulling its movies from Netflix. Their streatming service must be the reason why. I'll tell my friend. She and I enjoy family movies like Disney's and we'll have to check out Disney Life. Thanks for the info!

    1. Currently I believe DisneyLife is only available in Europe, but I heard the same news that you did and I imagine in a couple of years it'll be further afield.

    1. Haha! I agree - although we don't watch TV too much, there is definitely a place for it to wind down in our household!

  5. I've got Disney Life at the moment and love it, though not sure I love it enough to pay full price for it, we've got sky and prime though. L loves all the Pixar movies and I love being able to pop the soundtracks on in the car #twinklytuesday

  6. This looks great! It's not something we have tried yet, but I can see this coming in handy in terms of being able to download content to use offline for long journeys. Didn't realise books were included as well! #Twinklytuesday
