Little Loves | Time Travel, Crafting and Five Year Goals

When I wrapped up the month of June by way of my #LittleLoves post I mentioned returning weekly to this linky, and with July now here I'm doing just that.

Last weekend began with the arrival of Nathan's mum & dad, coming from Birmingham for the weekend. We didn't get up to too much; some time in the garden was enjoyed, errands were run and also some family meals out were had.

All in all we've had a good week, plodding on as usual... Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the summer holidays. Not long now!

Alexander and I are kicking off this weekend with a little at home movie night planned this evening, complete with pizza and popcorn, although the film has yet to be confirmed.

I hope the week has been kind to you all!

READ
I finished a book this week! I haven't actually completed a full book since near the middle of June, so to have finished and thoroughly enjoyed a title feels great. The book in question was The Summer of Impossible Things by Rowan Coleman; if you like time travel and family sagas then I recommend checking it out. You can find my full thoughts & review over on my book blog.

Below I've linked a couple of blog posts I've enjoyed reading this week...

WATCHED
I've just finished watching season 4 of Grimm on Netflix... I'm now considering whether to continue with the next season right away or have a little breather and watch something else.

MADE
Over the weekend one of our errands involved going to Hobbycraft, whilst there Alexander took part in the kids craft table that was set up - they were making spinners, not of the fidget variety!

Also this week Nathan and I sat down and made some five years goals. Being that we're midway through the year, it seems like kind of a silly time to make goals as typically you'd do that at the start of a year, but we're in a season of change in our life at the moment and it just seemed like a good idea to look forward.

WORE
I know I'm being a typical Brit, banging on about the weather, but it just can't seem to make its mind up at the moment. I've been sending Alexander into nursery with sun hat but also raincoat, because it just turns so easy. And don't get me started on dressing myself...!

HEARD
Lots of interesting chatter from Alexander this past week including conversations about getting bigger and him not wanting his teeth to fall out, talk of what mummy was like when she was little (we're going to look at some photos next time we go to Nanny's house) and also a new welsh word: ach-y-fi which is an expression of disgust, although Alexander actually pronounces it yuck-y-fi.

AND LASTLY...

I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND AHEAD, HOWEVER YOU MAY BE SPENDING IT!

  1. There's never a wrong time to make new goals, it's a great thing to do to keep you motivated and focused. Alexander looks like he's been having fun, those craft sessions in store are really good. Enjoy your movie night and have a wonderful weekend. #LittleLoves

  3. The weather is ridiculous isn't it? Whatever I put on in the morning is turning out to be the wrong thing!
I think setting goals is so important whenever you choose to do it. Knowing you're on the same path and working towards the same goal as a couple and as a family can never be a bad thing.
    Have a lovely weekend xx

  6. Oooh - I started Grimm but didn't make it past the 3rd series. I keep thinking I must go back to it but never seem to do it! #LittleLoves

    1. I was at the exact same point with Grimm, and returned as trying to complete shows instead of being in the middle of so many, I will say it has got interesting!

  7. Your movie night sounds so perfect, I think me and Jono might have to have one too! Oh and finishing a book is the best feeling isn't it? Thank you so much for including my post :) I don't think there's a right or wrong time to set goals, just sitting down and making plans together so you're on the same page is so important. I'm so fickle though that my five year plan changes every week haha xx
