Little Loves | The Summer Holidays Are Here

The title of this week's post says it all - the summer holidays are here!!! Alexander broke up from nursery yesterday; much joy, much excitement, much apprehension as to how I'm going to entertain my energetic 3 year old for the next seven weeks!

If you have any exciting plans for the summer - days out, holidays, occasions - I'd love to hear about them in the comments.

This week has felt like a long old one, with ups and downs including some sad news regarding a family member. In truth I'm happy to see the end of the week. Although the week has been quite hard, there have been a number of little loves, and of course that's what I'm here to share today.

READ
I delved into Final Girls by Riley Sager this week and finished the book within the span of 24 hours! Such a page turner! If you're a fan of thriller/horror type reads then I highly recommend checking it out; I was gripped throughout. I'm now moving on to a reread of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

WATCHED
Alexander and I enjoyed a movie morning on Saturday, tucking into breakfast whilst watching Finding Dory. Alexander absolutely loves the film - it was the first film we took him to the cinema to see - and he often asks to read the book adaptation we have at bedtime.

I actually watched a film myself this week: The Truman Show. I'd always heard about the film, it is quite widely referenced, but never seen it myself and decided to rectify that. I was unsure about the premise to begin with - how could this man not know that the life he is leading is all staged - however it was so well executed and of course Jim Carrey was amazing as the lead, Truman Burbank.

MADE
Alexander is currently going through a no fruit & veggies phase at the moment, and I've been making a number of things to try and incorporate them discreetly... Mostly they've been unsuccessful, but surprisingly peanut butter and banana sandwiches have gone down pretty well.

WORE
Nothing to see here this week.

HEARD
So much exciting Parks & Resort news has come out of the D23 expo. As a family we're big Disney fans, and although we've yet to visit Walt Disney World as the three of us, all the upcoming changes and plans have me so excited for when we do get to make the big trip... Even if that trip isn't for a good few years to come yet.

AND LASTLY...

I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A LOVELY WEEKEND AHEAD, HOWEVER YOU MAY BE SPENDING IT!

    1. Toy Story land looks amazing - it is one of my favourite Disney films so I've been following the progress! Ah, I hope the holiday countdown flies by!

I commented on your post, but there was an error message after posting so I'm not too sure if it went through successfully.

    1. Fruit has definitely been easier than vegetables... We're still working on that!

    1. We've been to WDW individually, just never as a family - we're waiting until Alexander is a little bit older.

Final Girls is a great read; I think you'd enjoy it!

  5. Finding Dory is so sweet isn't it? I'm a sucker for all things Disney! My girls are desperate for us to take them to Disney World, and to be honest I am too! Maybe when my youngest is a little older (and we've had time to save up!!) xx
