Little Loves | Storms, Tayo and Half Term Week

This week has been half term week for us, and we've had a lovely one despite some dull and dreary weather. I've really enjoyed having Alexander at home and am going to miss him once he returns to nursery on Tuesday. For now, I'm looking at the positive of a four day week ahead of us.

However you've spent your week, I hope it has been a lovely one.

READ
As with most of the rest of the year so far, I'm all over the place with my reading. I have bookmarks sitting in three different books currently - our #BookClub140 pick of the month, my February reread, and also a non fiction title. I'm not too fussed with this however, as all three books are being picked up and read from pretty consistently.

WATCHED
Remember a while back now I mentioned how I have a love for cheesy TV + reality shows? Well, do you know what fits that bill - Celebs Go Dating on Channel 4. I just can't stop myself from watching it, and the narrator totally makes the show. I also finished watching The People vs OJ Simpson on Netflix, which I mentioned started last week.

HEARD
The theme tune to Little Bus Tayo, a children's TV show on Netflix. We don't typically let Alexander watch things during the week, however given that it's half term I thought I'd let up on that rule a little. When asking what he wants to watch, Alexander will often reply 'Tayo, Tayo' in the exact voice they use on the theme tune - this show is being picked even over Paw Patrol and Thomas, which is a pretty big deal as Alexander loves those two shows.

MADE
I've started using my bullet journal a bit more this past week or so, does that count? I kind of fell out of the habit of using it and have recently picked it back up, mostly to keep myself organised with blogging, not other life bits. Running two blogs, even of the small size mine are, can be a bit overwhelming at times, and so for the past couple of weeks I've been working on getting myself into a better routine allowing me to write, share and interact within both sets of communities on an almost equally consistent basis... I say equally consistently because my book blog is my primary blog and so I tend to put a little extra time in to that one.

WORE
I don't even know why I continue to keep this topic here... I very rarely having anything to report.

AND LASTLY...
If your area of the country was affected by the storms this week, I hope you and your family are safe and all. I've seen some particularly blustery scenes over social media, and I know there was a lot of travel chaos. Thankfully, here where we live, we weren't too badly hit at all.

I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

  1. The storm yesterday was awful wasn't it? Luckily we just had very blustery winds and no damage! What did you think of OJ Simpson? I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was going to say art a bullet journal but my hand writing isn't up to bullet journal standards! 😂

    1. We had very much the same from Storm Doris - thankfully! I really quite enjoyed the OJ Simpson show, especially how it looked at the perspective of the trial from so many view points. Ah, you should see my handwriting! There are so many lovely and creative bullet journals now there, and mine definitely isn't one of them! I just love having a customisable space to keep me organised.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  3. I love the sky in that shot. :)

It sounds like you've had a nice week, minus the storms.

What is the "bullet journal" you mentioned? Is it a journal you bought with bullet points already part of it? Or is it one you've created by adding bullets to blank pages as you come up with ideas for your blogs, etc? I'd love a journal to keep me more organized for blog writing, but I haven't found one that suits me yet, and I suspect I never will. I'm always interested in checking out new options though. :)

    1. Ah, thank you!

If you're looking to find a journal that helps you keep organised with blog bits, then I'd definitely recommend bullet journaling to you! Bullet journaling is described as 'the analog system for the digital age', and it is a fully customisable thing. All you need is a journal (any journal; I use a squared moleskine) and a pen! To find out more I recommend checking out the website (www.bulletjournal.com) and also having a browse on the ever trusty Pinterest.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

  4. I've fallen out of the bullet journal habit too this year. I really need to restart. Sounds like a lovely half term. I'm glad I'm not the only one who never has anything to put in the wore section!

  5. Sounds like you've had a lovely week together. We weren't affected too badly by the storm, thankfully. Very windy doing my duty on the field at work though! I need to start using my bullet journal more often, I find I don't use it when life gets too busy! Madness I know! Enjoy your weekend xx

    1. I understand not using your bullet journal when life gets busy - an added unnecessary extra in some ways. I hope you're having a lovely week!

  6. The storm was awful here too. My friend's car got broken windows from a falling tree, another roof was ripped partly off. It was madness. Sounds like you have had a lovely busy week together. Hope you are having a great weekend. #littleloves

  8. The storm had me talking to eldest about the wind. I'm not sure how much she understood as she's two. I then realised we didn't have the childrens classic The Three Little Pigs that has to change right? #littleloves

    1. Haha, that would have come in handy! We have a big book with a whole collection of traditional / classic tales - it is well used!

      I hope you're having a lovely week!

  9. Bullet journalling is so helpful to keep track of things isn't it? Mine has been neglected recently, I must pull it out and get back on track.x

    1. I think it is so easy to fall out of the habit of bullet journaling as it can take up a fair bit of time, when once you get into the routine of it it is so helpful!

      I hope you're having a lovely week!
